John Salibello, a prominent Manhattan antiques dealer came to Krate looking for a new identity that would reflect his mid-century modern collection and taste. It became during our research clear this identity would need to express a personality that is both bombastic and quiet, simple and complex. I focused on these contrasting traits to create an identity system that expresses scale and contradictions. The wordmark is the primary identity, with the monogram a secondary mark to be used flexibly, symbolic of the unmatched scale and variety of the John Salibello collection. Designed while at Krate.
